Sheryl Suzanne Crow was born on February 11, 1962, at Kennett, Missouri, United States. She was born to Wendell Wyatt Crow, a lawyer and trumpet player and Bernice nee Cain, a piano teacher. She has three siblings, Kathy, Karen, and Steven. She attended Kennett High School where she was very active in sports. She attended the Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and the University of Missouri.
Sheryl Crow dated Kevin Gilbert in 1993 but they broke after they had issues with songwriter credits for her debut album. She also dated actor Owen Wilson.
