Ludovico was born in a family of politicians but chose to be a musician. He was born on November 23, 1955, in Turin, Piedmont, Italy to a publisher father Giulio Einaudi and a mother Renata Aldrovandi, who was an ardent music lover. Ludovico’s paternal grandfather Luigi Einaudi was president of Italy for 7 years, from 1948 to 1955. His maternal grandfather who moved to Australia following world war 2, was a composer, opera conductor and a pianist. He started composing on his own since he was a teenager, owing to the fact that his mother used to play the piano to him when he was a child.
