Alanis Nadine Morissette was born on June 1, 1974, in Ottawa, Canada. She was born to Georgia Mary Ann, a teacher, and Alan Richard Morissette, a high school principal. She has an elder brother Chad who is a business entrepreneur and twin brother Wade who is a musician.
Morissette’s parents were teachers in military school and owing to that the family had to move quite often. She spent three years from 1977 to 1980 in Germany.
