Orenthal James Simpson ( nicknamed “The Juice” ) is a former American Football Running Back player and was born on 9th July, 1947 and was raised in San Francisco, California by his parents Eunice and Jimmy Lee Simpson. His father was a chef and bank custodian and his mother was a hospital administrator. O. J. Simpson was 2nd youngest and has 3 siblings one brother, Melvin Leon Simpson and two sisters, Shirley Baker and Carmelita Jackson.

When he was a child he suffered from rickets and wore braces those are made by his mother with scrap on his legs until the age of five. Simpson was born and grown up in San Francisco and there family used to live in the housing projects of the Potrero Hill. On 24th June, 1967 Simpson got married with Marguerite L. Whitley and gave birth to three children named Arnelle L. Simpson, Jason L. Simpson and Aaren Lashone Simpson.

Together they had two children, Sydney Brooke Simpson and Justin Ryan Simpson. Simpson used to play many athletic games in his childhood and after breaking a thumb in basketball to stay in sports O. J turned to track in football in Galelio High School and he quickly became the schools star running back. From 1956 to 1966, he was a student at city college of San Francisco and played both offensive as well as defensive and was joined in Junior College All American Team as a running back player.

He attended “The University of Southern California “ in Los Angeles from 1967 to 1968 and received an athletic scholarship and played as running back under head coach John McKay. Simpson impressed every one with his athletic ability, in 1967 he ran 1543 yards and again in 1968, he rushed 1880 yards on 383 carriers and 13 touchdowns.

Also in 1968, Simpson received the “Walter Camp” award, “Heisman Trophy” and the “Maxwell Award” and signed a television contract with ABC. In 1968 he ran for 1709 yards and 22 touchdowns and still holds the record for largest margin of victory with 1750 points for defeating Leroy Keyes. His professional career started in 1969 after he joined with Buffalo Bills, they paid hefty amount of $650,000 over five years for a contract in professional sports history.

He became the first player to cover 2000 yards, with 2003 yards covered and 12 touchdowns. Later Simpson won 1973’s NFL Most Valuable Player award and Bert Bell award. After his 1973’s famous 2000 rush yard season, he ran for more than 1000 yards for next three seasons. Due to his knee injury he had played only seven games in 1977 season for Buffalo Bills. In 1978 he was traded to San Francisco 49ers and played with 49ers for 2 seasons.
