Tagged with many informal names like Steyn Gun, Phalaborwa express, Steynjie, Steyn Remover and Hoolio, Dale Willem Steyn is an International South African Cricket player. Dale was born in a small town named as Phalaborwa in Transvaal Province of South Africa on June 27, 1983.
Being from a small town he had to make lots of struggle and hard work to be into the South African cricket team as it was considered the game of creamy layer people. His father worked in the mine. He barely had money to buy a pair of shoes for his international debut. He was well equipped with talent which made him one of the fast bowlers in the world.
Since childhood he loved skateboarding, bass fishing and hunting. He started playing cricket at the age of 11 and was selected in school cricket team. Steyn always stated to be completely different to everyone in the family as he was the only guy who went to the hostel. He went to Johannesburg, 350 miles down the road just to continue playing cricket at the age of 12. It never crossed his mind to be a cricketer as he wanted to be a photographer but it happened as it was destined.
After completing his high school Steyn went to the small Lesotho cricket academy where he was snapped up bowling in the nets at batsmen who were gathering for the 2003 world cup. Steyn made his first class debut for Northerns which lately merged to the Eastern to form Titans on 17 October, 2003.
Dale made his debut for South Africa on 17 December 2004 in the first Test of England’s tour. His performance was well but due to his some mistakes he was dropped for further innings. Later he continued playing domestic cricket for Titans, Essex. Presently he represents Cape Cobras. On 17th august, 2005 he made his One Day Internationals debut in Afro-Asia cup for Africa XI. He made his debut for South Africa on 20th January 2006 against Australia. His T-20 debut was made against New Zealand on Nov 23, 2007.
With some up and downs in his performance lately he managed to be a permanent fast bowler for South Africa team with an average bowling speed of 145-148 Km/hr. He has the set record of fastest 100 wickets in test matches for South Africa on 2008. He was awarded ICC TEST PLAYER OF THE YEAR as he took 78 wickets just an Avg. of 16.24 on the year 2007-08. He is consistently performing great and has managed to be number one many a time.
In IPL, he started playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Later he also played for Deccan Chargers, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Lions.
Moving into his personal life, Dale is in relationship with Jeanne Kietzmann since 2007 and married her in 2011. Jeanne is an actress by profession. Steyn loves her and want to spend most of his time with Jeanne. A Best wishes for the couple.

Tough to accept but Dale is just qualified till High School. He completed his high school from Merensky High School, Tzaneen, South Africa. Nothing much is known about his higher education.
