The West Indies cricketer, Andre Fletcher is a star right-handed batsman who can also be seen wicket keeping sometimes. He started playing for the team in 2006 Cricket World Cup U-19 which was held in Sri Lanka.
He has also played with Stanford Superstars in the Stanford Super Series, where he was placed as an opening batsman with Chris Gayle, against Middlesex. In the same match he managed to score 90 on 60 balls, and hit 3 fours and 7 sixes.
The star started off his cricket career domestically in 2004, when he started playing for Windward Islands, and since then he is playing for the same team in West Indies Professional Cricket League.
He was chosen to represent the country on international grounds solely because of his performance which is undoubtedly brilliant. The team ignored his lack of experience as they could see true potential in Fletcher’s game.
The cricketer made his T20 debut in 2008 against Australia, following his ODI debut the same year, against the same team Australia. His $20 million showdown in Twenty20 against England, involved hitting 32 not out, this earned him $1 million from that performance alone.
Despite his debut in 2008 in the national team of West Indies, the star cricketer has managed to play over 27 T20I, 73 List A and 90 20/20 matches, including 64 First Class matches and 18 ODIs so far.
He won ‘Man of the Match’ three times in T20 matches and was also honored with ‘Man of the series’ in 2014 with a match against New Zealand. And it doesn’t seem like he will stop playing any time soon.
Fletcher was born in 1987 on 28th November in the Grenada’s Island nation La Tante.

Since the start of his career, Andre turned heads, sometimes with his performances on the ground and sometimes outside the ground. Cricket lovers will forever remember the time when Fletcher dished England’s bowler Brett Lee, with his team mate Chris Gayle during the 2nd T20 World Cup. Chris was following his repertoire, by mocking how Lee was pushed out of the stadium. But his remarks didn’t get much attention, as people were applauding what Andre, a newbie at that time, had to say about a bowler of Brett’s Stature. West Indies won that game, bringing the cricket in front of everyone’s eyes.
Andre was arrested in 2015 in Dominica’s Douglas Charles airport, as he was found with ammunition, 50 rounds to be exact. For which he was fined with EC $2000 penalty. The only thing we hope Fletcher works on, are his awareness skills, towards his surroundings in the field, the cricketer seems to have a record for getting out by run out on numerous occasions. It is because of his substantial performance that managed to keep him in the international radar of the team, despite getting towered by legends like Chris Gayle or Dwayne Smith.
