Samantha bee was born on October 25th, 1969 in Toronto, Ontario in Canada. Her parents got divorced soon after she was born, leaving Samantha in the care of her grandmother who was a secretary at the Catholic School she was attending. She shifted to Humberside Collegiate Institute and the York Memorial Collegiate Institute where she completed her high school.
After her High school graduation, she enrolled at McGill University, where she did her humanities course, but she later moved to the University of Ottawa as she was not completely satisfied by her humanities course.
