Her maternal grandfather and grandmother were of Chinese-Filipino and Russian Jewish origin, respectively.
She has two siblings; older sister, Valerie Cates and younger sister, Alexandra Cates She studied at different school like Miss Hewitt’s school and the Professional Children’s school in New York City.
