Chiranjeevi was born on 22nd August 1955 in a small village Mogalthur to Konidela Venkat Rao, who worked as a constable and Anjana Devi, a home-maker. His father had job transfers on regular basis. Therefore, Chiranjeevi spent most of his childhood with his grandparents. Since his childhood, he was interested in acting. He has two brothers, named Nagendra Babu and Pawan Kalyan, and two sisters, named Vijaya Durga and Madhavi, respectively. Both of his brothers are also associated with Tollywood.
The actor got married to Surekha Konidala on 20th February 1980. He has two daughters Sushmita and Srija, and a son Ram Charan Teja, who is also an actor in Tollywood.
