Burton Leon “Burt” Reynolds was born on February 11, 1936, in Lansing, Michigan. He was born to parents Burton Milo Reynolds and Fern H. Reynolds. He has a sister and they lived for two years in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. In 1946, his family moved to Riviera Beach, Florida and his father became the police chief of Riviera Beach. He attended the Palm Beach High School and received multiple scholarships.
He then got a football scholarship and went to Florida State University. In his college, he used to play as a halfback. After completing his football career, he then became a police officer. To continue his studies, he started taking classes in the Palm Beach Junior College. In 1956, he won the Florida State Drama Award for appearing in ‘Outward Bound’ by Watson B. Duncan III. He considers Duncan as his mentor and also the most influential person in his life.
